According to a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has no plans for returning to Microsoft as the company's CEO. Gates stated during his interview that his full time work for the rest of his life will be with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Here is an excerpt from the <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-2001697/Microsofts-Bill-... target="_blank">Daily Mail</a>:
<blockquote>"I ask him whether this is it now – is Microsoft history to him, replaced in his heart by his philanthropy? He retired from the day-to-day running of Microsoft in 2008, with many believing it has since lost its edge to companies like Apple and Google.
My full-time work for the rest of my life is this foundation.
Will he ever return to helm Microsoft?
I'm part-time involved. But this is my job now."</blockquote>
Bill Gates also stated that his kids tease him by singing a particular song to him. "The Billionaire song is what my kids tease me with. They sing it to me. It's funny."
This pretty much indicates that Bill Gates has no plans on returning to Microsoft. Steve Ballmer, the man who succeeded co-founder Bill Gates in 2000, has had the spotlight on him since he became CEO. A <a href="http://www.winbeta.org/?q=news/microsoft-investor-wants-ceo-steve-ballme... target="_blank">recent report</a> even suggested that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer should step down and discontinue his "Charlie Brown style of management" and to "give someone else a chance."
