Halo 5: Forge and Anvil’s Legacy officially launch today on Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One. Halo 5: Forge’s Windows 10 app started showing up in the Windows Store yesterday. But today 343 Industries is officially rolling out Halo 5: Forge and the new content update Anvil’s Legacy.

Microsoft first revealed that Halo Forge would be coming to the PC back in May. Brining Halo’s map and game creation studio to the PC enables more granular control. And the free Windows 10 Halo Forge app will enable the Halo 5 community to create even more custom content.

Anvil’s Legacy

The launch of Halo 5: Forge coincides with a simultaneous content update for Halo 5: Guardians called Anvil’s Legacy. Anvil’s Legacy is Halo 5’s ninth free content update since the game launched last October and includes new game content and community features, such as:

  • Content Browser that Spans Platforms. The Anvil’s Legacy content release brings the highly anticipated content browser to Forge mode in Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One – a new, streamlined way to discover community-created Forge content, with support for custom maps, game modes and Forge Object Groups. Combined with Halo 5: Forge on Windows 10 PC, the new content browser will let users browse, access and enjoy content from both PC and console Forgers, regardless of which system it was originally created on.
  • New Arena and Warzone Maps – Mercy and Temple. With the addition of “Mercy”, a new battleground is open for competitive Arena players, while “Temple” brings the desert environment of Sanghelios to Warzone Assault modes.
  • New Weapons, REQs, Customization Options and More. Anvil’s Legacy brings several new desirable REQ items including three new weapons, new Sound Dampener attachments, weapon and armor skins, and more.

Halo 5: Forge

The Halo 5: Forge app for Windows 10 is available for free now in the Windows Store. It also requires that another free app, the Halo app, be installed in order to work. With the Halo 5: Forge app you get all the same editing features available on the Xbox One app, while also gainomg support for high-resolution displays, including 4k, and mouse and keyboard support.
