Acer unveils new Leap Curve and Leap Fit fitness trackers with support for Windows devices

During its New York City event, PC maker Acer unveiled a bevy of new devices. Although its new PCs do stand out in their own way, the company also showed off new wearable technology that caught our eye.

At the event, Acer introduced the Leap Curve, and Leap Fit, two fitness focus wristbands designed to help you stay in shape. The Leap Curve features a curved OLED display that is limited to show black and white colors only to maximize battery life, and is also packed with an optical heart sensor and a gold-plated galvanic skin sensor which would together measure your stress levels. The Leap Fit on the other hand (see what I did there?) is said to offer a similar experience except but without a curved display.

According to TechnoBuffalo, who managed to get some exclusive hands-on time with the wearables, both run Acer’s custom OS and will support iOS, Android, and Windows devices. Customers will be able to purchase the two for around $100 which will start shipping in “late spring or early summer”. Let us know whether the Acer wristbands are devices that interest you.
