Age of Empire: Castle Siege

Last week, Age of Empires Castle Siege was spotted in the Windows Phone store, but it was nothing more than a closed beta as users were unable to download the game. However, worry no more as Microsoft, in collaboration with Smoking Gun, has released the much awaited Age of Empires Castle Siege for Windows and Windows Phone. This means users with mobile phones, tablets, and even PCs will be able to make the most out of the popular strategy game.

“Age of Empires: Castle Siege invites you to guide your empire through the Medieval Era on your Windows PC or touch screen device. Choose from one of several civilizations, including the Britons, Teutons, and Kievan Rus. Upgrade your keep, fortify your walls, and garrison defensive troops to protect yourself from marauders. Then, train an army to raid other cities, and command them in battle to dismantle your opponents’ defenses,” the app store description reads.

Age of Empires is one of the most popular strategy games of its time. With Castle Siege, gamers can use one of the several civilizations available, such as Britons, Byzantines, etc., and expand your city, defending it walls to keep it safe from intruders and enemies. The game is multiplayer so you can train your armies and invade other cities of players from across the globe.

The game comes with support for mobile devices with 512MB of RAM — so there you go folks with entry-level handsets, you were not forgotten. As far as the Windows Store version is concerned, it may be restricted to regions as we were unable to access it either through the link nor via Windows Store search. Give it some time, as it is likely propagating through the servers.

Head over to the Windows Store and grab the game — it’s available as a free download.
