AMD will be offering the RX 470 and 460 for less than $200, aimed at low-cost 1080p and single-monitor gaming, as reported by Windows Central. The cards are based on 14nm Polaris technology, with the RX 470 performing at up to 4.9 teraflops and the RX 460 at up to 2.2 teraflops. By comparison, the recently announced RX 480 provides up to 5.8 teraflops.

The RX 470 features 32 compute units, 2304 stream processors, a 926MHz base clock (boosts up to 1206MHz), 256bit memory, and consumes 120W. The card also features DirectX12 support, which means it can run the latest and greatest games that are powered by Microsoft’s technology. According to AMD the RX 470 should be able to run at 60 FPS or greater with anti-aliasing turned on at 1080p, making for a good low-cost option for graphically intense titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and The Witcher 3.

The RX 460, however, features 16 compute units, 896 stream processors, a 1090MHz base clock (boosts up to 1200MHz), 128bit memory, and consumes less than 75W of power. The RX 460 is directed toward the eSports market, which leads AMD to claim that the card should achieve greater than 90 FPS in popular eSport titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, and League of Legends.

AMD hasn’t yet provided any information about the price of the RX 470 & 460, but both cards should be somewhere below RX 480’s 200 starting price. More information about the pricing will be available on August 4th and the 8th, which are the release dates of the products.
