Lumia 920

Lumia 920 and 820 has already received the Windows Phone 8.1 update in several global markets. The same cannot be said for AT&T in the US, as the carrier has been a little slow when it comes to the Lumia Cyan update for its handsets. The carrier has already rolled out the Lumia Cyan update for the Lumia 1520, 925, 1020 and the 520, but it seems more handsets are about to join the Lumia Cyan club as AT&T is rolling out the update for the Lumia 920 and 820.

Windows Phone 8.1 comes with a number of enhancements and new features. Users can now customize the appearance of the Live Tiles, as well as set custom backgrounds in it, as well as Cortana, a personal assistant for Windows Phone handsets.

There’s a new Action Center as well, which is the home of all the notifications you receive, and let users toggle the connectivity settings as well. With the Lumia Cyan update, several apps on the device are updated as well such as the Storyteller, and other OEM apps. Apart from those, there’s an improved version of the Internet Explorer, a new WordFlow keyboard, and more.

Here’s a list of enhancements introduced in the latest Windows Phone 8.1 Update for Lumia 820 and 920:

  • Personalization – Live Tiles with multiple sizes, transparency, and color options let you pin apps, music and people to your Start Screen so you choose the information you want to be displayed in the way you want to see it.
  • One Windows – With OneDrive, Skype, Office and Bing, the Windows experience is reinvented across all your screens—phones, tablets, PCs and Xbox—so you can shoot, share, work and play on the go.
  • Xbox – With Xbox games, music and video in your pocket, you’ll have entertainment options on-the-go.
  • Efficiency – Windows Phone is optimized to help you do more, with the new Word Flow keyboard, Action Center for managing notifications and quick actions, and a new suite of device and data management tools.
  • Word Flow keyboard with shape writing – The updated Word Flow keyboard with Windows Phone 8.1 knows your contacts, learns your phrases and has shape writing integrated right in so there’s no need for a separate app.

You should get the update in the coming days, but in case you don’t, you can manually check for it by going to Settings > Phone Update.
