Maxathon launches 'world's fastest PC browser' MxNitro, claims to be 3 times faster than Chrome

Maxthon, best known for its not so popular web browser, has launched a new browser called MXNitro for Windows desktop platform. It claims to be the “the fastest PC browser in the world.”

The company says that it has stripped down user interface, removed resource-hogging features like extensions, adblocker, and employed its “new patent-pending pre-connection and pre-fetching technology” to make the browser so fast.

Compared to Chrome version 37, MxNitro installs and opens three times faster, and also it loads web pages 30 percent faster. In our brief testing, while the browser really didn’t take much time to install, it wasn’t significantly faster (though I should mention that my internet connection is pretty fast, so I can’t really see much difference), and furthermore, the browser packs in very limited features, which is kind of a downer.

“Our focus groups and longitudinal surveys detail a growing segment of users who want speed above all else. 80% of users say that speed is their #1 decision-making criteria and that they are willing to forego extensive features and add-ons to get more of it,” said Jeff Chen, CEO of Maxthon. “This product is dedicated solely to that important and growing consumer niche.”
