Electronic Arts and DICE are set to reveal their latest game, Battlefield 5, at an event this afternoon, amid lots of speculation as to the setting of the latest in the Battlefield series.

A teaser trailer hasn’t revealed much, except for some state of the art facial rendering:

… but a hero image posted yesterday in the Xbox Store has revealed quite a bit more about Battlefield 5, apparently unintentionally:

A number of clues in the post (the Zeppelin in the background, the Mauser and the spiked trench club) all point to a World War I setting for the game, something that’s been rumored but not confirmed.

Marketing officials at EA aren’t too happy with Microsoft, apparently, and a now deleted tweet posted to the NeoGAF forum pointing out the leak expresses their exasperation:

So Microsoft has let the cat out of the bag, but there’s still plenty to learn about the newest Battlefield, and you can check out their reveal event today at 4pm PDT.
