Microsoft has rolled out an update to Bing.com’s video page, allowing you to easily search for music videos. You can even hover over a thumbnail result to instantly watch a preview of that video without having to click on it!
“Built from the ground up to make it easier for you to access the best music videos available on the web, our new music video experience was designed with music lovers in mind. Whether you’re looking for videos of songs and artists you are already familiar with (like Led Zeppelin and Justin Timberlake) or you’re looking to discover the next-up-and-coming artist or revisiting the classics, we’ve got you covered,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
Videos are pulled from various sources, including YouTube, Vimeo, MTV, Artist Direct and more. “Instead of making you click through to a site to see if a video is the one you want, you can simply mouse over the thumbnail to see a preview. If you like what you’re hearing, simply click on the button to play the full version,” Microsoft explains.
The Bing video page will showcase the most popular video on the top-left of the page, while Bing’s machine learning capabilities will automatically find the most relevant and popular music video for an artist, album or song and showcase it on the upper right of the page.
For example, a search for “Linkin Park” will showcase their top songs, the most popular song, related artists, along with the search results. In fact, attention to detail is important to Microsoft, as videos that are listed in the same order that they originally appeared on the album.
