Blu Win HD gets a firmware update, fixes touch screen response issues

When we reviewed the Blu Win HD (which you can read right here), we noted one big issue with the display. The touch responsiveness was not as sharp as it should have been. Thankfully this has been fixed with a recent firmware update. Here is a snippet of the issue we brought up during our review:

Swiping on the screen is a bit rough. When swiping or scrolling down a list of apps, I tend to accidentally launch an app. It seems like the responsiveness of the screen is a lot more sensitive than what I am used to with a Lumia device. Is this a software bug? Perhaps.

I’ll give you another example. When scrolling down the news list in the Converge app, I keep tapping on a news story inadvertently. I’m not doing it on purpose — I am simply trying to scroll down the list of news articles. This can get annoying quickly.

Head over to Settings > Phone Updates to snag the latest firmware update. If you are running Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers, simply launch the app and turn the preview off. Check for updates to snag the latest firmware update. Try it out and let us know if you notice any improvements. If you own a Blu Win JR, let us know if this firmware is available for you.

Just recently, the Blu Win HD and Win JR received the official Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 update, which made three-column Live Tiles the only option for your Start screen (previously you could have two columns of Tiles).

Tl;dr: This firmware update improves the Blu Win HD touch screen response.
