Buy a new Windows 8.1 tablet or PC, get a $25 Windows Store gift card for apps

Microsoft is running a new promotion for the month of December in celebration of over 100,000 apps in the Windows Store. If you purchase a brand new Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 tablet or PC at a participating US retailer, you will get a promotional $25 Windows Store gift card, which you can use towards purchasing your favorite app or game from the Windows Store.

This promotion, which ends December 28th, is Microsoft clever way of enticing consumers to check out Windows 8.1. Not only do you get your Windows 8.1 PC when you purchase it, but you can actually use the gift card to snag a few apps or games to go along with it – creating the intended experience.

Head over to the following retailers across the United States to snag a qualifying PC/tablet device: Amazon.com, Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics, Staples, Newegg.com, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart.com, or the Microsoft Store.

“Windows Store gift cards are also available for purchase in over 25 markets from more than 100 retailers, enabling you to buy apps and games online directly from the Windows Store, the Windows Phone Store and select Xbox stores,” Microsoft added.

The Windows Store current has over 130,892 apps and continues to grow by nearly 2,000 apps a week. Check out the video below which showcases “apps for every experience.”
