Clean Bandit will record the music video of their upcoming single on Lumia 930's

Mobile photography has come a very long way since cameras were first integrated into mobile phones. Nokia pushed the boundaries in this area for so long thanks to a partnership with optical systems manufacturer Carl Zeiss. And the cameras you would find today on devices like the Lumia 930 and 1520 are capable of capturing great high-resolution content, also in low-light conditions. So it wouldn’t come as that much of a surprise to learn that they will be used to record professional music videos.

Clean Bandit, known for their number 1 hit Rather Be, are using the Lumia 930, or more precisely lots of Lumia 930s, to record the music video of their upcoming single. As part of a partnership with Microsoft, the band has been detailing all the behind the scenes action, so we get to have a look at what it takes to make the creative music videos that the band is also known for. One of the sequences involves using 50 930s recording in tandem at 4K resolutions to create some great “bullet-time” stop-motion footage, check out the video below to see what the results look like.

Since the Clean Bandit-Microsoft partnership started late last year, they have been crowd sourcing and looking for YouTube creators to put new spins on the music video for Rather Be, but their latest video will also be directed by YouTubers, in this case Włodek Markowicz and Karol Paciorek from Poland. This is the first we’ve heard of a collaboration like this, so it will be exciting to see what the end result will look like.

Today also happens to be the day the Brit Awards takes place, and Microsoft has made a Cortana commercial featuring Clean Bandit which we’ve embedded for your viewing pleasure above. We can’t wait to see what Clean Bandit’s new music video will look like, we’ll share it with you as soon as it’s out, so stay tuned for that!
