During Comic Con 2011, we were able to see new campaign footage from the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive title, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, which is set to be released this November. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a high-definition remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, and will feature new narrative content and on-the-fly switching between its new presentation and the graphic mode of the original.

Frank O’Connor, Halo’s franchise developer, stated that the new game will be two sets of code running concurrently. “It’s about reliving that experience of playing Halo 1 for the first time. This represents 10 years of gaming evolution,” O’Connor stated. Players are able to switch to a “Classic Mode” on-the-fly by selecting it in a menu.

At this point in time, there is a slight lag when switching the visuals. O’Connor stated that the lag would be gone once the game is released.

Halo Anniversary is currently in development by 343 Industries and is set for a release this November. Take a look at the campaign footage from Comic-con:
