Cortana pegged to launch in China and the UK on July 30

Cortana

Cortana is almost ready for launch in counties outside the United States. Microsoft has started sending out invites to the Chinese media for an event which will see the launch of Cortana in China on July 30. Cortana will also be launching in the UK on the same day.

The invite sent out to Chinese bloggers says “China, here I come” with the Cortana logo above it. This obviouslyy means Microsoft is planning to launch the personal assistant in the country on that day. The UK launch will also be happening on July 30, but that doesn’t really require an event as Cortana already speaks American English.

We recently reported on how Cortana would roll out to countries outside the United States. Since Cortana runs in the cloud, an update or download will not be required for her to start working in your country. She will literally just show up, almost like magic.
