Making plans to pick up a new budget Lumia smartphone soon? Well, if you have no problem with jumping on the Cricket Wireless network, then this interesting deal could work wonders for you since it doesn’t break the bank.

The Lumia handsets on sale via Cricket Wireless are the Lumia 640 and the Lumia 650. These devices do not have the chops to stand toe-to-toe with the Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL, but they were not designed with that in mind. These handsets are for those who are not looking for bleeding edge smartphone technology. Instead, the Lumia 650 is a Windows 10 Mobile device that comes packed with a 720p and 5-inch display. It has a fairly decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor at its core, along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. This memory can be expanded upon with an SD card.

When it comes to its camera, this device is packing an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. In terms of battery life, a 2000mAh battery is installed. Cricket Wireless is selling this device for the cool price of $119, down from $200.

As for the Lumia 640, this is a smartphone that comes with Windows 8.1 at the helm. The Lumia 640 has similar specs to the 650, with the main difference being the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 8MP camera, and 1MP selfie camera. The storage is 8GB and the battery capacity sits at 2500mAh. Cricket Wireless wants to sell you this handset for $29.99.

Which handset is better? Clearly the Lumia 650 takes the cake here, but not by much. The Lumia 640 is still a capable smartphone and if you’re looking to get Windows 10 Mobile, this device can be made to use the newest operating system without any issue.
