Delhi Police, which guards the National Capital Territory of Delhi, has launched a Windows Phone app to make it easier for citizens to register cases and save the money and time that they would have to spend by visiting a police station.
With a staff of over 80,000 covering 149 police stations, Delhi Police is one of the largest metropolitan police forces in the world. Using the app you can file complaints about your lost gadgets, articles, documents, etc., from your mobile device. No matter what part of the city you’re roaming, you can cut the hassle of having to visit a police station. This first-of-its-kind initiative will also reduce the burden from the Delhi Police’s shoulders.
As of now, only ‘Lost reports’ are being entertained, which you can lodge by using the app. Once you have successfully done that, you will instantaneously receive a digitally signed “Lost Report” on your mobile and email. To track the progress of your report, you can visit Delhi Police’s website using the details that you received in the email (such as the LR#).
It is an incredibly useful app since those who lose their belongings might not realize it at the moment. Now, they won’t have to worry about running to the nearest police station.
