Did your Windows 10 upgrade activate? If not, it'll happen soon

Windows 10

Millions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users across the globe have now upgraded to Windows 10 for free, Many upgraded without any issues, but some people are noticing that once the upgrade completes they are unable to activate their new Windows 10 install. I too had this problem, but don’t be alarmed! Things will be all okay soon.

As you might imagine, the servers which are handling the distribution of Windows 10, the Windows Store and indeed Activation are all taking a huge hammering thanks to the day-one rush. Because of this, everything is a little bit slow right now. Windows 10 PCs which are not activated after upgrading shouldn’t worry, your activation will eventually show up.

My Dell XPS 13 which I upgraded last night would not activate upon clean installing after an upgrade from 8.1, Windows was even telling me the upgrade key was blocked. That’s all fine. I turned off my XPS 13 and went to sleep, and when I woke up in the morning my laptop had been activated. So those who are worried that they did something wrong when upgrading, don’t worry! Just give it time.

If your PC still hasn’t activated after 24 hours, give Microsoft Support a call or try activating via phone. They are on hand to help with situations like these.
