Having the ability to view maps on a smartphone is quite a remarkable feature that has come up in the past several years, considering in the past we would need an expensive GPS device or a heavy map book. Unfortunately, viewing maps on a smartphone can eat up quite a bit of data, or it can be problematic to view a map when you don’t have a data connection.

Fortunately, for all the travelers out there who don’t have immediate access to a data connection, there is a way to download maps for offline viewing in Windows 10 Mobile. Here’s what you need to do in order to accomplish this:

  • First, go into Settings and tap on “System”
  • Tap on “Offline maps”
  • Tap on “Download maps”
  • Simply select the maps you want to download and you are done!
