Gameloft, a popular French mobile video game developer and publisher, has revealed that the highly-anticipated Modern Combat 5 Blackout game arrives on July 24th for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8. The game will also launch on rival platforms.

"Modern Combat 5: Blackout is one of the most highly anticipated mobile games of the year. Many of you have been wondering when this first person shooter will be arriving on Windows and Windows Phone. Your wait will soon be over! Today, Gameloft has announced that Modern Combat 5: Blackout will be available for download on both Windows and Windows Phone on July 24th, just a few days away. The game looks pretty amazing," Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Missions are intended to be shorter in Blackout, and the game is primarily a first person shooter. Missions also include controlling turrets on boats, helicopters, and even drones. The game also introduces allies, who follow you along missions and even join you in battle. These allies can also revive you the first time you die during a campaign mission.
