We are beginning to see more companies switch over to Microsoft’s Office 365 cloud productivity solution, thanks to the cost efficiency and productivity enhancements. GameStop, the popular gaming retailer, has made the move to Office 365, saving $700,000 annually.
“GameStop wanted to enhance customer loyalty by providing a consistent experience at each store. The company adopted a retail portal that runs on Microsoft Office 365 and facilitates communicating with employees at more than 6,000 locations worldwide. Employees now have direct access to information, and they are more efficient because the solution helps automate tracking for store-related data. GameStop is saving US$700,000 annually and expects that the boost in knowledge will lead to more sales and loyal customers,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
GameStop has adopted a retail portal that utilizes SharePoint Online in Office 365. Corporate employees can use this portal to share daily updates with more than 6,000 retail stores. Store associates can receive information through graphics and videos, rather than waiting for their managers to send out a company-wide email.
GameStop plans to adopt Lync Online for conferencing, and plans to use Exchange Online for messaging. The company also plans to use OneDrive for Business for accessible document storage and Yammer for social networking.
“I need to make sure that all our store associates not only know everything that they should about our products and promotions but also that they feel like part of the larger GameStop team,” said Jason Cochran, Vice President of Store Operations at GameStop. Well, with Office 365, now the team can work together and be efficient at the same time.
