Get a free year of Skype group video calls

Since Microsoft took possession of Skype in 2011, it has been looking for ways to integrate the service and build the user base for its $8.5 billion toy. We have seen the service integrated into the Office 365 Home Premium package deal, and now the software maker is going a step further, offering a new deal that will get you a nice business package, free of charge.

Microsoft is quietly pushing the “Skype Collaboration Project”. The deal brings customers a year of free group video calls, group screen sharing and live chat customer support. In addition, there is the added bonus of not seeing ads. There is, of course, the usual screed of small print. The offer is good for 12 months, beginning on the day you sign up, you must act before April 30th 2014, group calling consists of three to ten people, and a bit more.

Microsoft doesn’t seem to be pushing this offer in any meaningful way. To take advantage of the deal, you’ll need to follow the link below. You will, quite obviously, need to have a Skype account.
