Google Maps, FileBox, and Design Me apps for Windows Phone 8 receive new updates

If you happen to be running the Google Maps app, FileBox app, or Design Me app for Windows Phone 8, you will be treated to some updates via the Windows Phone Store. All three app updates bring forth some bug fixes and new improvements.

First off, we have the unofficial third-party Google Maps app which is conveniently (and confusingly) named Google Maps. “Explore new places, discover local favorites, and navigate your world with Google Maps. Voice guided turn-by-turn GPS navigation and more. Now available on Windows Phone with a simple, easy-to-use design,” the app description reads. Unfortunately, no change log was made available for the update which bumped the version number to This app is available for free.

Secondly, we have the FileBox app, which is the unofficial Dropbox client for Windows Phone. With this app, you can browse, move, copy, and delete files from your Dropbox account. You can also upload images, open and download images, download documents, and much more. In this new update, which bumped the version number to, unnamed bugs were fixed and Spanish support was added. This app is available for free.

Finally, we have the Design Me app for Windows Phone 8. With this app, you can quickly set an alarm, look at your weather forecasts, see your calendar, and create a live note that features pictures, videos, voices, places, and more. The app was updated to version and features a redesigned alarm time selector, redesigned ‘set the alarm each day’ feature, new weather icons, improved weather animation, various UI enhancements, and other bug fixes. This app runs for $1.49.
