Halo 4 earns a whopping $220 million in first 24 hours

Every Halo launch is a big one, but this one is above them all. Halo 4, within the first 24 hours of launching rolled up a sum of over $220 million, which is a very big deal for both Microsoft and 343 Industries. $220 million makes Halo 4 the most successful Halo launch to date, ever.

More so, $220 million makes Halo 4 the biggest entertainment launch this year, and has also done better than that of the top movie launches such as Harry Potter and The Avengers. “Halo 4 garnered more than $220 million worldwide, eclipsing the record for the biggest day-one opening in U.S. box office history, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” and the biggest movie of 2012, “The Avengers” – based on U.S. sales alone.” said Major Nelson.

Halo has now become one of the worlds most popular franchises, managing to gain over 4 million players within the first 5 days of going live.

Halo 4 is expected to earn over $300 million within the first week, which ends tomorrow. Well done Microsoft, and well done 343 for taking on a game that so many love, including me!
