Hands-on with the Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview (video)

Earlier today, Windows 10 for phones finally started rolling out to Windows Insiders. Although it wasn’t as complete of a rollout as we were expecting, we’re happy that it started making its way out the door. So what does Windows 10 feel like running on a phone? Brand-new. Shiny, and sharp around the edges. With a new Start Screen and a heavily updated design language, Windows Phone certainly feels like it has been scrapped away and rebuilt from the ground up with Windows 10.

Some new features in the first build of the Windows 10 for phones preview includes some new tile sizes, actionable notifications, new universal apps, a new file explorer, a Cortana makeover, the Spartan rendering engine and more. Check out the video above to see some of the new features in action.

There’s more to come in our coverage of Windows 10 for phones, we’ll have all that ready for you over the coming days and more once Microsoft expands the number of supported devices that can receive the preview. So stay tuned to WinBeta for the latest.
