HTC One M8 for Windows

Earlier this year, HTC released the Windows Phone version of their flagship device dubbed as the HTC One M8 for Windows. The handset brings all the goodness of HTC One M8, but with Windows Phone 8.1 as its operating system. Currently, the HTC One M8 for Windows is available from Verizon Wireless, but it seems more carriers will offer the handset in the coming months.

In the US, AT&T is also expected to add the handset to its product portfolio in the coming weeks. As per our friends at WPCentral, the HTC One M8 for Windows will hit retail at AT&T on November 7th. What’s even more surprising is that it’s the same date when the carrier is expected to begin selling the Lumia 830. This is definitely a welcoming news if it’s legit as customers will now get more choice, since most of the popular Windows Phone handsets are available at Verizon.

The report didn’t mention anything about the pricing of the HTC One M8 for Windows on AT&T, but it shouldn’t be too different than Verizon. As for the Lumia 830, the mid-range flagship retail price is around 330 Euros so we do have an estimate.

HTC One M8 comes with Windows Phone 8.1 as its operating system, and rocks a 5-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. There’s a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor under the hood, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage, supporting microSD card of up to 128GB. It also retains the Duo camera setup with a 4MP UltraPixel camera and a depth sensor.

The HTC One M8 is superior to the Lumia 830 when it comes to hardware, expect the photographic capabilities. That’s one area where Lumia 830 takes the lead, thanks to its 10MP camera featuring Pureview technology and Carl Zeiss optics.

There’s no official confirmation from AT&T at the moment, but we’ll keep an eye on the news, and notify you as soon as anything official comes up.
