Lenovo, which purchased IBM’s computer hardware business, has a great lineup of devices – even a few Androids in its offerings. Now, with the big Consumer Electronics Show kicking off in Las Vegas, we’re learning about many new devices, including a handful from Lenovo.
One of those is a new Window 8.1 tablet, dubbed the Thinkpad 8. The device features an 8.3-inch 1920×1200 display, a single MicroUSB 3.0 port and a quad-core Intel Bay Trail processor. It will also boast an 8- megapixel rear camera. The Lenovo will debut at a price of $399. An exact shipping date was not announced, but it’s expected sometime in January.
The fact Microsoft has still not officially announced a smaller Surface tablet, despite rampant rumors of such a device, makes this market a hotbed. The 7-8 tablets have become popular with other platforms, and the Dell Venue 8 Pro has proven to be a hot device over the past few weeks.
