This year's CES was home to a large number of convertible and multi-function devices. One that caused a good deal of interest was the Miix 2 from Lenovo and it was initial pegged for release in March. But it looks like the release schedule has been accelerated as one of the two promised models is already available to purchase in the Lenovo store.
The Lenovo Miix 2 is available in two models, the 59404513 and 59404516, with the only difference being the size of the hard drive -- and the price of course. The Miix 2 comes in light silver and is available with a 64Gb or 128GB eMMC hard drive. We're going to assumed that the Lenovo website has an error, because at the moment the device with the smaller capacity is listed at $749, while the one with the larger drive costs $699. We've reached out to Lenovo for clarification.
The Miix 2 is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3740 CPU, backed up by 2GB LPDDR3 1066 MHz RAM. Running the 32-bit version of Windows 8.1, the tablet cum laptop boasts a 10-incg display running at a resolution of 1920x1200.
At CES a cheaper device was also announced, but this is still to make an appearance. If you're in the market for a convertible tablet, the Lenovo Miix 2 offers a variety of configurations -- do you think you could be tempted?
