LG announced today via (WMPU) they will unveil the world’s first solid rollable wireless keyboard at the upcoming IFA exhibition in Berlin . Along with the announcement, LG released a video demonstrating the features of the new LG Rolly Keyboard and more of the mobile accessory’s details.
One of the potential strengths of the mobile keyboard could be that its feel may more closely resemble a traditional desktop keyboard’s compared to other mobile accessories, since the Rolly is built with polycarbonate, ABS plastic, and a key pitch of 17mm. The LG Rolly also features two arms that fold out to hold your mobile device, the ability to pair with two different devices via Bluetooth, and can be powered for up to three months with a single AAA battery.

The defining feature for the keyboard is that once you are done using it you can fold it up along the four rows of keys into an easy to carry stick shape.
In today’s press statement, Seo Young-jae, vice president of Innovative Personal Devices at LG, said

“LG Rolly Keyboard is just one of the many premium input devices we’ll be unveiling in the coming months as we expand our accessories offerings. The goal was to create a product that could add more value to LG smartphones and tablets at the same time offering a unique design proposition that hadn’t been explored before.”

The Rolly Keyboard is set to launch sometime in September in the United States and then be released in certain markets in Europe, Latin America, and Asia before the end of the year. More details, including price and availability, are going to be announced by LG at IFA. Given Seo Young-jae’s statement, this is possibly the first of multiple new innovative mobile accessories that the electronics maker wants to begin selling.
