Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL headed to EE in the UK

At their MWC press event last night, Microsoft introduced their latest budget-friendly offerings, the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. Both devices carry an extremely affordable price tag, and are expected to hit retail by April in various markets across the globe. If you’re based in the UK, you be glad to know that both handsets are expected to launch on EE in the coming weeks. Furthermore, EE will also have exclusive rights to sell the cyan version of both devices in the UK. More information about the pricing and exact availability are still to be announced, although Microsoft pegged the 640 at 139 Euros (159 for the LTE version), and 189 Euros for the 640XL (219 for LTE).

As far as the specifications are concerned, Lumia 640 boasts a 5-inch HD display while the Lumia 640 XL has a larger 5.7-inch display. Both devices are powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage and Windows Phone 8.1 with GDR2 out of the box. The phablet offers a 13MP camera for photos and videos, while its little sibling sports an 8MP shooter.
