Removable batteries are always helpful for power users so if it dies, they can simply remove the battery and replace it with a fully charged unit. Most of the high-end flagships lately ship with non-removable battery which is a disappointment for some users.

Microsoft is expected to launch a number of new handsets tomorrow at a press event, including the high-end Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Those of you who are interested to know more about the Lumia 950 XL will be happy to know that it may come with a removable 3340 mAh battery, as per a new leak from Steve Hemmerstoffer, commonly known as OnLeaks on Twitter (via Neowin).
Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard quite a lot about the alleged Lumia 950 XL, including its complete set of specifications. We’ve seen leaked images, press material, renders, videos and it made an unexpected appearance on the Microsoft Store as well, all but confirming the existence of the handset.

As far as the specifications of the Lumia 950 XL is concerned, the device is expected to come with a 5.7-inch display sporting a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels with the processing handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of RAM. Other rumored features include a 20MP PureView rear camera with optical image stabilization, 5MP front-facing camera, USB C port and will ship with the new Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
Microsoft has scheduled an event on October 6th, which is tomorrow, where the company is expected to take the wraps off the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL along with a number of mid-range offerings as well. It’s not just Windows 10 Mobile devices, rumors also hint at the launch of the Surface Pro 4, which can be the reason we’ve seen so many discounts on the Surface Pro 3 over the past few weeks, as well as the second generation Microsoft Band, and maybe even a surprise or two
We’ll be live at the event, and you can follow along at home from our dedicated #Windows10Devices page, and will make sure you get every bit of it. So hang in tight.
