For the percentage of people who happen to be both Windows Phone, and HTC fans, it may have been a little disappointed when the Taiwanese phone-maker revealed its latest One (M9) flagship at Mobile World Congress 2015 without a Windows Phone version.

All hope is not lost though as HTC and Microsoft are reportedly working closely on the successor of the HTC One (M8) for Windows. According to HTC’s President of Global Sales and Chief Financial Officer, Chia-Lin Chang, the company is currently evaluating Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 operating system in order to later determine “where it fits in the HTC lineup”.

Just to give you an idea of what to expect in the possible Windows version, the current Android-powered One (M9) features a 5” 1080p display covered in a layer of Gorilla Glass 4, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit CPU, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 20.7MP and 4MP rear and front camera respectively with dual-tone flash, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 2850mAh battery.

A device with such exceptional build quality and a modern spec-sheet to match would make for a fine 2015 Windows flagship smartphone. Are you looking forward to a HTC One (M9) running Windows 10? Let us know in the comments below.
