Microsoft announces digital pre-order and pre-download feature coming to Xbox One

XBox One

Microsoft just announced a huge feature at it's Gamescom 2014 Media Briefing today. One of the Xbox One's most requested feature from gamers was the ability to pre-order and pre-download video games from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace before they are released, and Microsoft has delivered on that request.

Starting with Forza Horizon 2, selected games on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace will be available for pre-order and pre-download. Currently not all games will support this feature, however more games will be added to the list shortly. Forza Horizon and Fifa 15 are two announced games that will support the feature when it launches.

This feature is something both PS4, PS3 and Steam already have, so Microsoft is yet again playing catchup, however we're not complaining as it's better to be late than never. One thing Microsoft is yet to combat is the outrageous prices of digital games on its market, we hope Microsoft will soon see sense and take the Steam path, in which the cheaper price will sell more games.
