As anticipated, Microsoft launched the Microsoft Band 2 today and it will arrive in just a few weeks from now. The Band is Microsoft’s cross platform fitness device geared for the health conscious. This device is coupled with Microsoft health to help people live healthier lives.
But what is new here? Just by looking at the device, it is apparent Microsoft has addressed many major concerns users had with the 1.0 version. The device now has a much sharper, curved display and a much for flexible band (no pun intended) to create a  more comfortable and natural fit.
Microsoft has also worked to incorporate as much user feedback into this device as possible. Microsoft managed to maintain all of the original sensors from the first Band while adding a barometer to track elevation changes in real time. This will provide more data for hikers, cyclists, and even those simply trying to climb the stairs of their home.

Other notable feature changes include Cortana’s ability to reschedule missed workouts for you. No more skipping a day at the gym. Cortana can now keep you updated with calories burned through quick reminders and graphs. The Band 2 can estimate your VO2 max, which is the maximum amount of oxygen your body can process in one minute. Finally, Microsoft has worked to expand the Band’s ability to determine the kinds of swings golfers make and provide a scorecard at the end of your game.
Microsoft has worked very closely with business partners to ensure the Band 2 will aggregate and use your personal big data with other popular programs like Uber, Lose It!, and many others.
Pre-orders for the Band 2 begin today with the device launching on October 30th.  What do you think about the Microsoft band? Will you be upgrading to the 2.0 version?
