Microsoft closes registration for the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Written by Zac on October 14, 2011 - 02:01AM
After just 24 hours, Microsoft was forced to close the signup process for the brand new Xbox LIVE dashboard preview update. The preview is set to start within two weeks, with the final update within the next month.
Microsoft began accepting signups for it's Xbox LIVE Update Preview on Thursday, only to close it in just over 24 hours due to the company hitting the capacity limit. The program is now saying “We are sorry, but at this time we are no longer accepting registrations for the Public Preview Program as we have reached our target audience volume.”
Major Nelson also posted on his blog saying "Thank you for your interest in the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program! Sorry, at this time we are no longer accepting registrations for the program as we have reached our target audience volume. Please be on the lookout for additional opportunities in the future to participate in Xbox LIVE Update Preview programs. For those of you that have successfully completed registration we will be reaching out to you once we are ready to take you through the next steps – within the next 2 weeks. You can check on your status my referring to your Connect Dashboard page and the icon in the upper right corner."
The new Xbox LIVE Update is to include many new features, including a brand new Metro type UI, beacons, Facebook sharing and more! The new update is set to launch sometime in November.
