Yesterday, Corporate Vice President for the Office team Kirk Koenigsbauer was on stage of Microsoft’s annual Worldwide Partner Conference to talk about Office 365 momentum. Back at Build 2016, the company announced that there were 1.2 billion users around the world and that Office 365 was also gaining more than 50,000 new customers per month among small businesses, but the exec revealed yesterday that “Office 365 is now empowering over 70 million people each month in companies of all sizes.”
While gaining such a big customer base is an important milestone for Microsoft, Koenigsbauer also announced yesterday that the Redmond giant will be the first company to be recognized by AIG for security and compliance strength. The multinational insurance corporation will now include a Microsoft Cloud endorsement with its CyberEdge insurance policy, which will “allow new or renewing AIG CyberEdge customers using Microsoft Azure, Office 365 or Dynamics 365 to have access to expanded business interruption coverage as part of their policy terms.”
