Microsoft to fix 21 flaws on Valentines Day edition of Patch Tuesday

Microsoft will be releasing nine updates addressing twenty-one flaws this coming Tuesday, and four of these are rated critical. These updates will be released as part of Microsoft’s Valentine’s Day edition of Patch Tuesday (updates come with kisses!).

There are nine security bulletins and four are rated as Critical and the other five are rated Important. The Critical patches address vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8, .NET framework, and Silverlight. On top of that, there will be Critical patches for Windows XP SP3, XP Professional x64 Edition SP2, Windows Vista x86/x64 SP2, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2. The Important patches address vulnerabilities that could result in remote code execution and involves Microsoft Office, specifically SharePoint and Visio.

These updates will be available on February 14, 2012, so grab them before you go on your Valentines Day escapades.
