For those that did not know, Microsoft will be pre-installing Office on Windows Phone 8. This means Windows Phone 8 users will have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote on their mobile device! In an official blog post, Microsoft goes over the features that Office on Windows Phone 8 has and its pretty amazing.
"Whether you’re using SkyDrive or Office 365, getting access to your Office content is just part of the phone’s easy set up. Windows Phone 8 auto-discovery gets you connected to your accounts, so you can get things done from any place, at any time," Microsoft stated in the official blog post. Not only is the design simple and the navigation fluid, but finding and accessing your personal and work documents is a breeze. Microsoft set out to ensure the following ideas where met with having Office on Windows Phone 8:
- All your Office documents, where and when you want them
- The best Office document rendering on any phone
- All your notes – in one place and with you, anywhere
- Communicate and collaborate effectively from your mobile device
- The most world-ready Office experience on any phone
Office on Windows Phone 8 also utilizes NFC, all you have to do is use the Tap + Send feature in the Office Hub and you can share documents to another NFC capable device. Microsoft has also made it easier to read documents by removing the controls out of view. To get them back, just tap on your document.
