Microsoft may have accidentally announced Acompli acquisition

Microsoft may have accidentally revealed its plans to acquire a mobile email client called Acompli. A post, written by Microsoft corporate vice president Rajesh Jha, appeared on the company’s blog today, but it had no description or body, just a blank title saying “blank post please delete.” Things get interesting if you take a look at the slug in the URL, which mentions “Microsoft acquires Acompli.”

The post appears to have been pulled, but the folks at TechCrunch spotted it on time and took a screenshot for authenticity. This could mean that both companies may have reached a deal, or it may be in final stages of talks. If true, this could mean that Microsoft could acquire an excellent email client app which has received its fair share of success on iOS, and even Android. The app is compatible with Exchange, and this may be the reason Microsoft showed interest in it.

Last year, Accompli managed to raise $7.3 million, and there’s a possibility that they ended up with an offer while looking for more investment, as per TechCrunch. Anyway, there’s no official confirmation from Microsoft about it.
