Just like it has been said some time ago, Microsoft finally introduced Hyper-V containers with Windows 10 Preview build 14352.

All Insiders who want to try running Hyper-V containers on Windows 10 will be finally able to do so, by performing a few simple steps.

Microsoft’s Neil Peterson told us about Windows 10 containers in the recent blog post. In that blog post Peterson wrote basically anything you need to know about running a Hyper-V container on Windows 10.

You can find all info about installing, using, deploying containers in Windows 10, and even more in Peterson’s blog post. Check out the blog post here.

In case you’re not familiar, containers are a special part of the the system, where you can run apps and programs, separately from the rest of the system.

Microsoft puts big hopes in containers, because one of its main benefits is security. Namely, running an app or a program in a container makes it almost impossible for a virus or other malicious software to get into your computer, because everything is isolated.

Microsoft originally teased us with the possible introduction of Hyper-V containers to Windows 10 by posting a job offer for a new professional with required skills.

For other developers who want to experiment with Hyper-V in Windows 10, Microsoft also released Hyper-V containers and PowerShell Dev perks.

Hyper-V container support is currently available to Windows 10 Insiders only.

Although Microsoft didn’t reveal when it would arrive to regular users, we assume it will be with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.
