Microsoft is now rolling out OneDrive unlimited cloud storage to Office 365 subscribers

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that Office 365 customers can now get unlimited cloud storage space on OneDrive at no additional cost. The new features is now rolling out for Office 365 Home, Personal, and University subscribers, and will continue over the next few months.

As an Office 365 subscriber, you can get unlimited OneDrive storage and Office for as low as $6.99 a month. Microsoft is sending out emails right now for those of you who are eligible, informing you that you now have an additional 10TB of OneDrive storage added to your account. Yes, you are not immediately getting unlimited storage space — rather, you are receiving 10TB right now to start off.

Keep in mind that Microsoft is slowing rolling out the increased storage space. If for some reason you exceed your capacity, just ask Microsoft for more storage and they will grant it to you.

Microsoft wants to make OneDrive the world’s cloud storage leader. Here is what Microsoft’s corporate vice president, OneDrive & SharePoint, Chris Jones had to say in an official blog post:

“While unlimited storage is another important milestone for OneDrive we believe the true value of cloud storage is only realized when it is tightly integrated with the tools people use to communicate, create, and collaborate, both personally and professionally. That is why unlimited storage is just one small part of our broader promise to deliver a single experience across work and life that helps people store, sync, share, and collaborate on all the files that are important to them, all while meeting the security and compliance needs of even the most stringent organizations.”

Check your emails and your OneDrive account and let us know if you received the extra bump of free cloud storage space!
