Microsoft is now selling Inteon home-automation kits in its stores

Microsoft recently announced a partnership with Insteon. For those who are not familiar with Insteon, it is a technology based company that provides home automation, technology that enables light switches, lights, thermostats, motion sensors, and other devices. Since the announcement, Microsoft’s been working on bringing an enhanced version of Insteon that would be available for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

The companies also agreed on bringing Insteon home products for purchase on MicrosoftStore.com and Microsoft Stores across the United States. The time has come and Microsoft retail stores are now stocking Insteon home-automation kits, as promised.

Customers can choose from three different Insteon starter kits. These kits are categorized as ‘Insteon Starter kit’, ‘Insteon Home kit’, and ‘Insteon Business Kit’. With these kits, users can remotely control lights and appliances, set schedules for your devices, receive email alerts concerning the status of doors, windows, motion and water leaks, remotely control your thermostat, see your home through a WiFi camera, night vision, and more. You can control all this by using your Windows 8 smartphone, tablet or desktop.

There’s also an option to purchase other Insteon components like the Insteon Leak Sensor, Open/Close Sensor, Thermostat, LED Bulb, On/Off Module and Wireless Wi-Fi Camera.

You can buy the Starter kit for $199.99, Home Kit for $299.99, and the Business Kit for $499.99.
