Microsoft Office Mobile for Android updated with Dropbox Support and OneDrive sharing

If you happen to be a regular user of Microsoft Office Mobile on your Android smartphone, you’ll be glad to know the app has received an update which introduces some useful features. With the latest update, Android users will be able to generate and share links to documents in your OneDrive account from within the app. This means you can seamlessly share your files with your friends and colleagues with a few simple taps, without opening the OneDrive app separately.

To share a document, all you have to do is open the document saved in your OneDrive or OneDrive for Business account, tap on the context menu, tap Share and then choose Email as link. As simple as it can be.

Secondly, the update also introduces Dropbox support for the app. In case you can’t recall, Microsoft and Dropbox entered into a partnership to help Dropbox users make the most out of Office apps for tablets and smartphones. Not too long ago, Microsoft added Dropbox support to its iOS apps to help users seamlessly manage documents stored on the cloud storage service from Office apps, and now it’s making its way to Microsoft Office Mobile for Android.

Users will be able to add their Dropbox account to the app and browse the files saved on the service. This means you’ll be able to open documents saved in Dropbox and edit them in Microsoft Office Mobile. The changes you will make to the documents will be automatically saved to the cloud storage service. Last but not the least, you will be able to share files stored in Dropbox from within the app. Sounds great, right?

The updates are life in the Google Play Store so make sure you update your apps if you use it regularly on your device.
