This last Tuesday Microsoft released an update, KB2889866, for OneDrive aimed at fixing a bug for OneDrive for Business. However, Microsoft has pulled the update and offered this explanation:

We are investigating an issue that is affecting the September 2014 update for Microsoft OneDrive for Business. Therefore, we have removed the update from availability for now. We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause.

Update KB2889866 was specifically aimed at fixing bugs with the syncing of new libraries. When trying to sync another users library by clicking ‘Sync to a new library’ the user got an error. Additionally, when moving the location of the Favorites folder to a network share, the link does not appear in the Explorer pane.

This is the second month Microsoft has had to pull an update, with the Windows 8.1 August Update having a range of issues from font rendering to system crashes.

This is pretty routine for most tech companies, so no need to panic. If you want to err on the side of caution, we suggest that you double check that you don’t have update KB2889866 installed.
