Microsoft is ready to bring 4G devices to India

Microsoft is ready to bring 4G devices to India. The LTE landscape has improved a lot in the country in the last few months and the devices and services giant has said that once the operators are ready, it will offer the technology.

At its Lumia 630 launch event in India yesterday, a senior executive said that the company is working closely with the operators. “We have been LTE-ready with devices starting 2012; we have the technology. As the India LTE landscape has been recently clarified, we are working closely with operators. We also support FDD band 3 (1800MHz) which was recently auctioned,” said Raghuvesh Sarup, Sales Director at Nokia India.

As of now, the telecom operators are working on assessing their own network capabilities for LTE and it might take a while until we get to use the service. “It’s not yet known which major telecom player will choose what band. But, we are ready,” Sarup added.

Several Android phones and Apple’s iPhone are already compatible with the Indian band, but Nokia is yet to launch any LTE capable device in the country.
