In an interesting move, Microsoft is planning on releasing only two patches for September's Patch Tuesday. In fact, the two security updates deal with the company's development platform Visual Studio and System Center Configuration Manager.
Of the two security updates, both of them are rated "important" and deal with Visual Studio and System Center Configuration Manager. Microsoft is expected to release the two patches around 1PM on September 11th. This is one heck of a "light month" when it comes to security patches from Microsoft, all thanks to a big update that the company is working on for the October Patch Tuesday which deals with invalidating all certificates with keys less than 1,024 bits long. Microsoft will be pushing this to everyone next month after making this update optional back in June.
