Microsoft has released a short video recap of this year’s MWC, putting special focus on the launch of Windows 10.

This year’s MWC will go down in history as being particularly conservative. The focus from many established firms, such as Samsung and HTC, was on the refinement of existing designs. As such, things could occasionally feel a little staid.

Microsoft continued in much the same fashion with its MWC event. Focusing on the potential of Windows 10 and new programs that were being delivered to businesses, along with the success of the Windows Insider program, those waiting for signs of a juicy flagship announcement were left wanting.

That isn’t to say that there was no meat on the bone. The event saw the announcement of the Lumia 640 and the 640 XL. Both are mid-rangers, sporting 720p screens and interesting camera set-ups, with the XL being touted as the more premium of the two. The two devices will come sporting attractive price tags and will do much to whet the appetites of impatient Windows Phone fans before the release of Windows 10 later in the year.
