Microsoft has rolled out Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 CTP2, which comes with a plethora of features and fixes. Not to be outdone, Microsoft has also rolled out TypeScript 1.0 Release Candidate (RC), adding TypeScript support into the Visual Studio 2013 product.
Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 CTP2 comes with a boat load of new fixes and features, which you can take a look here. Notable features include support for Azure during development. You can now auto-create an Azure website and SQL Azure database during project creation for simple deployment to a testing environment. Update 2 also adds several new features to IntelliTrace, as well as several new diagnostics tools for Windows Store applications, including Energy Consumption analysis and a UI Responsive analysis.
“TypeScript is today being used to build products all over Microsoft, including Visual Studio Online, Xbox Music and Video, parts of Bing, and the IE11 Developer Tools. Outside of Microsoft, TypeScript is being used in projects like Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
