Microsoft Research holds Faculty Summit

Right now in Redmond Washington, Microsoft is hosting its sixteenth annual Microsoft Research Faculty Summit. The two day event features 70 top speakers from across the globe, speaking across four topic tracks of Artificial Intelligence, Software, Devices, and Computing in Society.

The summit is being attended by 600 academics and researchers. It will also feature ample opportunities for academics and researchers to network with each other and experience 47 demos and information booths.

To learn more about the individual presentations you can head over Microsoft Research’s page for the Summit and where they have the abstracts on display. A few examples of the presentations are:

“What Can We Solve with a Quantum Computer?”
“Progress in AI: Myths, Realities, and Aspirations,”
“The Holoscene: Virtual and Mixed Reality.”
“Digital Ink and Touch on NextGen Devices.”
“Design Verification: Treating Networks Like Programs or Chips.”

The research conference is also highly accessible if you weren’t able to make it to Redmond. The presentations are being streamed live and will be made available for later viewing. Additionally Microsoft is providing academics with access to their latest open source projects as well as their data science datasets for use in research.
