For all you app developers out there, Microsoft has announced the availability of the updated Bing Maps SDK for Windows Store apps. The SDK has been updated to support Windows 8.1 along with other bug fixes and features.
The Bing Maps SDK will only work on Windows 8.1 RTM, which was already made available to MSDN subscribers and will see general availability on October 17th. Developers are also required to have Visual Studio 2013 Release Candidate or later.
"The Bing Maps SDK for Windows Store Apps update for Microsoft Windows 8.0 contains bug fixes and the new Bing logo. Incorporating the new logo into an existing application requires the application to be rebuilt using the updated SDK," the Bing team explains.
Microsoft unveiled a new Bing logo back in September of this year, along with a major design refresh. The updated Bing Maps SDK features this new logo, along with various unlisted bug fixes.
For those who are developing apps on the Windows 8.1 Preview, Microsoft suggests using the Bing Maps SDK Preview for now. Hit the download link below to snag the updated SDK.
