Microsoft to set up Center of Exellence in Indian city of Visakhapatnam

Microsoft India recently signed an agreement with the local government that, among other things, will see it set up a Center of Excellence in the Indian city of Visakhapatnam, reports Times of India.
The center is part of Microsoft’s commitment to supporting the government in adopting cloud techonology for analysis and policy planning, and improving citizen services. Three proof-of-concept (POC) solutions will reportedly be built to apply Microsoft Azure’s capabilities in education, agriculture and e-citizen services. Microsoft will also offer exclusive workshop and training on Microsoft technologies to key IT and administrative officers

The agreement was further confirmed by Microsoft CEO’s Satya Nadella during a private meeting with the local chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu this morning. The meeting happened in conjunction with Nadella’s visit to Hyderabad, where he also had a talk with the local startups.
